Mike Williams is Director of Safety Training and Loss Control for CREA. His responsiblilites include monitoring state and federal health, safety and environmental regulations while assisting staff members in determining which programs are necessary to and will aid in their efforts to comply with regulations and safety procedures. This includes arranging meetings, trainings, conferences and inspections. Mike began his career with the rural electric cooperative industry in 1974 at Beauregard Electric Cooperative, Inc., in DeRidder, Louisiana. In the fall of 2007 he joined CREA as the Job Training & Safety Instructor. In January of 2010, Mike was selected to fulfill the duties and responsiblilites of Director of Safety Training and Loss Control for CREA. During his 35+ years with the rural electric cooperative sector, he has completed the NRECA Management Internship Program and enrollment in the NRECA Certified Loss Control Internship program. Mike is the NRECA Area Administrator for the rural Electric Saftey Accreditation Program (RESAP). Active membership of statewide and national organizations includes the Mesa Hotline School, Field/Safety Committee, Rocky Mountain Line School Advisory Committee and National Utility Training & Safety Education Association (NUTSEA). Certification/Proctor credentials includes OSHA's Construction Outreach Trainer 10 & 30 Hour, OSHA Authorized Disaster Site Trainer and the National Academy of Nuclear Training e-Learning (NANTel). Kevin Marshall

Kevin started his career in the electrical utility industry as a power lineman over 22 years ago. Beginning with the apprenticeship, Kevin was then certified as a Journeyman Lineman and then fulfilled his duties and responsibilities as a Line Construction Crew Foreman. The most recent part of his career includes serving as a Safety and Training Instructor for Lineman with the Texas Electric Cooperatives.
Some certifications Kevin has earned include Bare Hand Work up to and including 230kv, OHSA 10 & 30 hour, and the NFPA 70 E. Included in the typical lineman training classes Kevin has taught are basic and advanced pole climbing, transformer connections, reclosers, regulators, capacitors, troubleshooting, basic electricity, metering, URD and reconductoring.
Kevin will provide training and safety support for all of CREA's membership cooperatives.

303-455-2700 ext. 107 Denise has several years’ experience in regulatory compliance with a large midstream energy company in Denver. She was responsible for submitting filings to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) for several natural gas pipelines. In addition, she worked with the state public utility commissions in several states to submit the required filings. Denise holds a MBA from the University of Colorado-Denver.

Trained in law enforcement, Royce offers extensive experience in motor carrier compliance and safety, including a background in accident investigation and hazardous materials monitoring. He taught hazmat classes and was responsible for training local First Responders, including city police, fire, EMS and county sheriff departments. Michael brings 10 years of experience in the electric industry to CREA, including 3-1/2 years as a Safety Coordinator/Trainer. He is certified to train OSHA 10-Hour, OSHA Excavation & Trench Safety and OSHA Fall protection and Fall Protection Equipment Inpection. He also performed accident/incident investigations and root cause analysis and made recommendations for changing work procedures, policies, and/or types of equipment.

Steve Oakey

Steve started his career in the electrical utility industry as a ground man/equipment operator in 1976. He then got interested in safety aspect of the industry in 1997 at Southern Utah Valley Power Association. At Southern Utah, he worked closely with six member utilities providing compliance training until 2007, when he retired. After retirement, Provo City asked him to lead its safety program. At that job, he provided compliance training for Provo City, Mount Wheeler Power and Probst Electric.

Suzette comes to us from Idaho where she worked for a cooperative for 21 years. She began her co-op career at the front desk, then moved to marketing and conservation and finally to the safety department. She is in the process of completing her Certified Loss Control Professional training with NRECA. Suzette has been active in community events serving as a city council person and on various committees for the City of Ashton. She has also worked as the Planning & Zoning Administrator for the City of Ashton.
