Colorado’s Electric Co-ops Raise Money for Statewide Burn Fund Being an electric line worker means facing the eighth most dangerous profession every day. And, not only do line workers have a dangerous job, they do it in dangerous conditions, putting lines back up in raging rain storms, blinding snow, freezing cold, intense heat and incredible ice. Electric co-ops stress safety with their workers and encourage safe practices at every turn. However, accidents happen. And, just for those times, the Colorado Women’s Task Force has established a Burn Fund to help the injured line worker and his or her family during this difficult time. |

Bill Endorsed by Colorado Rural Electric Association, Rocky Mountain Farmers Union, Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association, Environment Colorado The Colorado Rural Electric Association is pleased to announce that Sen. Michael Bennet (CO-D) joined a bipartisan coalition of Senate and House members as an original sponsor of legislation establishing a Rural Energy Savings Program to create jobs, save American families and businesses money on their electric bills, and reduce carbon pollution. The bipartisan bill is estimated to create 20,000 to 40,000 jobs a year. It has been endorsed in Colorado by the Colorado Rural Electric Association, Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association, Rocky Mountain Farmers Union and Environment Colorado among others. |

Durango ranks #12 in the United States, and is the only community in Colorado currently recognized.

Colorado Rural Electric Association Names New Executive Director
DENVER – After conducting a nationwide search to fill the top post for the Colorado Rural Electric Association, the board of directors has named Kent L. Singer as the new executive director to replace Ray Clifton who will be retiring in January, 2010. Singer was unanimously selected after three days of interviews with nine highly-qualified finalists from over 160 applicants. He will assume his duties on January 1, 2010.
