Members of the San Luis Valley Rural Electric Cooperative headquartered in Monte Vista who buy renewable Green Power are eligible to be entered in a drawing for a free energy makeover. For those who don’t currently buy Green Power, they have until February 15 to sign up for Green Power or make a one-time donation of $10 or more to the Green Power program to be entered in the drawing.

One lucky recipient will receive a home energy audit and several hundred dollars toward improvements to make their home more energy efficient. The total value of the package will be $1,000.

SLVREC member may purchase Green Power in 100 killowatt-hour blocks for 80¢ per month. Those who sign up are asked to make a one-year commitment to the program, but that is still less than $10 per year to support renewable energy generation. A portion of the money collected from the Green Power program is used to promote energy conservation and the development of local renewable resources.
