The unprecedented growth in
demand for energy will have significant impact on
consumers and utilities everywhere, as resources
become more scarce and prices move higher. This
course helps directors understand the basics of energy
efficiency technologies and how they must be
integrated into the utility’s strategic plan and
coordinated with power suppliers. Special emphasis will
be placed on understanding the potential impacts on
utility revenues and expenses.
Key topics include:
• Fundamental changes to the utility industry as a result of worldwide economic forces
• How cooperatives will be directly affected by these forces
• Technology and rate-based strategies that can help co-ops address these challenges
